Oticon

Oticon has been a leader in the digital hearing aid movement since its introduction in 1991 of the first fully automatic hearing aid without a volume control. In 1996, it offered the world's first 100% digital BTE hearing aid called DigiFocus™. It created a fully automatic canal version in 1997.

Syncro

Oticon's Syncro model uses artifical intelligence to analyze and adjust sounds in much the same way as the human brain does by selecting and prioritizing sounds. Oticon says that "Unlike conventional digital hearing instruments, Syncro bases its decisions on meticulous real-time comparisons of possible outcomes. It always chooses the strategy guaranteed to provide the clearest speech - regardless of the complexity of the listening environment. This intelligent system is called Voice Priority Processing.™"

An eight channel noise processing system combines with Oticon's VoiceFinder system to  mazimize your understanding in most situations.

The Syncro is available in several models from In-the-Canal to Behind-the-Ear. The aids also come in a variety of colors.

A bit of commentary: this kind of technology addresses a major shortcoming of hearing aids, when compared to glasses. With glasses, the eye can focus through the lens on whatever you need to see clearly. Older heaing aid models, however, simply amplify everything indiscriminately. The new digital models try to rectify that situation.

As for the colors, its about time. Hearing aids should be as much a fasion statement as glasses.
